The Northern Neck Orchestra(NNO) will present “An Afternoon of Beloved Songs,” a concert of classics from opera, operetta, and popular favorites performed by The Three Sopranos.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online through the NNO or at the door the day of the event
Good Luck Cellars’ (GLC) tasting room will be open from 11-6, and we’ll have a food truck on the premises from 12-5. Recommend you pre-show at GLC (and avoid the line for wine rush prior to the start of the show) by getting your wine early. Pair it with dinner from the food truck and enjoy it on the covered, wraparound porch.

Members of The Three Sopranos – dramatic soprano Caroline Whisnant, mezzo- soprano Abigail Stinnett and lyric soprano Sarah Kate Walston – have appeared at venues throughout the US and Europe — locally, they have performed with the Capitol Opera Richmond as well as a regular visitor to the Northern Neck. They’ll be accompanied by pianist Douglas Jayd Burn.
The concert will feature operatic classics, including arias from Puccini’s La Boheme andGianni Schicchi, Bizet’s Carmen, Verdi’s Rigoletto, Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffman and Wagner’sDie Walkure. And, they’ll showcase favorites from operettas such as Gilbert and Sullivan’s Mikado, Herbert’s Naughty Marietta, Friml’s The Vagabond King and Romberg’s New Moon. The program also honors traditional Italian favorites performing O sole mio, Santa Lucia, Funiculi, Funicula and Nel blu, dipinto di blu, which became a popular hit in the 1950s asVolare. The concert will conclude with a tribute to Die Fledermaus, the classic comic opera by Johann Strauss II.
